Jordan Farmer – Senior Associate Attorney

Jordan Farmer is a Senior Associate Attorney that represents community associations in transactional corporate issues, enforcement litigation, and assessment collections matters. Specifically, Jordan’s transactional corporate experience includes, contract interpretation and negotiation, governing document drafting, interpretation, and enforcement, and representation of numerous clients in alternative dispute resolution procedures. Jordan also has extensive experience in assessment debt collection using both judicial and non-judicial foreclosure methods. Prior to obtaining her bar license, Jordan began working on HOA law matters in 2019 as a law clerk and legal extern for Tim Flanagan.

Litigation Successes

In 2022, Jordan second-chaired a nine-day jury trial obtaining a favorable judgment for the Association by preventing an Owner from renting out rooms in his two (2) homes as boarding homes/mini-dorms in a large master association in violation of the association's single-family residential use restriction. The association also received a monetary award for $103,500.00 in fines and $1.2 Million in attorney’s fees. Jordan has also assisted Tim in researching and drafting a California Supreme Court brief (Orchard Estate Homes v. Orchard Homeowners Alliance (2019) 32 Cal.App.5th 32).

Jordan has also obtained Superior Court judgments for delinquent assessments and collected on those judgments through sheriff foreclosure sales. Most notably Jordan successfully collected judgment awards in the amounts of $64,000, $71,000, and $87,000 for three different San Diego County HOA clients.

Memberships and Activity

Jordan is an active member of the San Diego County Bar Association, Community Association's Institute ("CAI") and the California Association of Community Managers ("CACM"). Jordan serves on the Publications Committee for the San Diego Chapter of CAI and has published articles regarding Balcony Bill compliance (2024) , authority to hold remote meetings (2023), and changes in legislature regarding brush management and its effects on fire insurance (2021). In 2022, Jordan had the pleasure of speaking at a San Diego County - North County - CAI morning program discussing water intrusion event responsibilities and proactive legal steps to take to mitigate remediation delays.

Professional History

Jordan earned her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 2020 where she was awarded the Academic Merit Scholarship and Dean’s Diversity Scholarship. She also served as Treasurer for the Children’s Advocacy Law Society and as a student tutor. Prior to law school, Jordan worked as a legal assistant for a private civil firm specializing in family law, bankruptcy, probate, and estate planning. During law school, she worked as a law clerk for various civil litigation firms. Jordan is a proud parent to her 4-year-old Bernedoodle, Mochi and new puppy Bernedoodle recruit Nori.
