Ian devotes his practice to representing community associations in litigation, governing document enforcement, and day-to-day corporate transactional matters. Ian’s comprehensive understanding of common interest development law provides him with the tools to successfully advocate for his clients in and outside of the courtroom. Ian has experience litigating and negotiating resolutions to claims of breach of fiduciary duty regarding financial mismanagement, short-term rental violations, breach of contract, architectural and landscaping disputes, noise disturbances, and general CC&R enforcement.
Ian began his legal career advocating on behalf of injury victims at prominent San Diego personal injury law firms and has experience litigating throughout California courts since 2016. Prior to attending Thomas Jefferson School of Law school, he received his Bachelor of Arts and Science in Political Science with a Minor in Economics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Ian was born and raised on the island of Oahu where he worked as a Legislative Liaison for his hometown community association before moving to San Diego in 2012. During his legal education, Ian served as an intern for the Honorable Debra Carrillo and as a Law Clerk for the County of San Diego Department of Agriculture, Weights & Measures. Ian brings his experience and insight in legislative and local governance to his daily representation of homeowners associations.
